Donald Roy Jackson, 84, of Batesville departed this life on Sunday, March 31, 2024. He was born in Clarksdale, Iowa, to Roy Jackson and Oda Alice (Close) Jackson.
Donald was a man full of life and well skilled. He was an engineer by trade and worked with several industry leaders such as George Nissen in developing the trampoline and designing the 1st electronic scoreboard. He retired at age 50 and opened a woodworking shop named Brock Mountain Heirlooms and had items shipped all over the United States. He loved to go on Walmart trips, listen to music, fish, hunt, and watch RFD-TV. One of his life's treasures was his faithful companion of over nineteen years, Scooter, who never left his side and enjoyed being with him in everything he did.
Left to cherish him memory is his son, Jeff Jackson, of Jonesboro; son-in-law, Curt Pomranky, of Batesville; five grandchildren, Brandon (Racheal) Pomranky, of Batesville, Megan (Dennis) Pomranky, of Batesville, Samantha Wootten, of Batesville, Cregan Jackson, of South Dakota, and Ryan Jackson, of Bentonville; twelve great grandchildren, Bryleigh, Brody, Brycelynn, Ashlyn, Sianna, Cayden, Raygen, Waylen, Kaitlyn, Gabriel, Cyrus, and Alexander; an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and mother of his children, Mavis Jackson, his second wife, Edith Jackson, his infant daughter, Julee Jackson, his daughter, Jolene Jackson Pomranky, his brother, Bill Jackson, who passed away at the age of 12, his sisters, Helen Frank, and Darlene Terry, and his grandson Jeremy.
A Memorial Service will be Friday, April 12, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Doty Southside Funeral Service with Jason Farley officiating.
