JoAnn Covington, 84, of Southside, departed this life on Sunday, April 7, 2024. She was born on April 24, 1939, in Judsonia, Arkansas to Hubert Sellers and Flora Jewel Joyner Sellers. During her working years she was a secretary and bookkeeper in the family business.
She was a faithful member of Maple Springs Baptist Church in Rosie. She also served as church clerk for twenty years at Fellowship Baptist Church.
JoAnn loved her family very much and her loyalty to them was truly the love of a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed special times with family especially with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Often you would find her at the races watching the stock cars, dirt bikes, and four wheelers. She also enjoyed horse shows. Recently you would find her at the family pool watching her great grandkids swim and play for hours.
Left to cherish her precious memory is her son, Roger (Debbie) Covington, of Cushman; her grandsons, Brad (Jessie) Covington, of Batesville, John (Ashley) Covington, of Batesville, and Kyle (Katie) Covington, of Batesville; her granddaughter, Trish (Josh) Goodwin, of Cushman; her brothers, David Sellers, of Judsonia, and Charles Sellers, of Oregon; five great grandchildren, Victoria, Gwen, Ava Ray, Coy, and Owen; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Donnie and Jimmy Sellers, an Infant daughter, Lori Ann Covington, one son, Charles Covington, and daughter in-law, Robin Covington.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Maple Springs Baptist Church in Rosie with Bro. Curt Howard officiating.
Burial will follow in the Wyatt Cemetery in Rosie.
Pallbearers will be Roger Covington, Brad Covington, John Covington, Kyle Covington, Josh Goodwin, Coy Covington, and Owen Goodwin.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Maple Springs Baptist Church beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.
