Johnny Wayne Burnett

Johnny Wayne Burnett, 64, of Batesville, departed this life on Monday, January 22, 2024.  He was born in Springfield, Missouri on December 8, 1959 to John Burnett and Julia Spurgeon Burnett.

During his lifetime he was a heavy equipment operator and worked for a period of time for the Independence County Road Department.

Johnny was a fun loving person who loved his family very much, had many friends, loved to a fault, and enjoyed life to the fullest.   He enjoyed music and dancing and was a kind hearted and gentle man.  He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Lesa, of Batesville; his daughters, Jennifer (Logan) Edwards, Joni McKenzie, and Amiee (Thomas) Jones, all of Batesville; his brother, Paul Spurgeon and sister, Sharron Aldridge; ten grandchildren, Kaley, Aden, Alexis, Bryce, Wyatt, Jewelia, Aleesa, Emily, Dillon, and Teaghan; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Christopher Holt, brother,  Don Spurgeon, and sister, Loretta Tharp.

A Celebration of Life will be held later.
