Kathie Ann Slayden, 67, of Batesville, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Batesville. She was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on June 19, 1952 to Edgar and Martha (Nunnally) Lantz.
Kathie graduated from Strawberry High School and earned a Business degree from Arkansas State University.
Kathie served in a variety of capacities throughout her life. She worked several years for Kroger and Banquet Foods, while also enjoying bar-tending at the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
Kathie loved to sew and made clothes for herself and her children. She also did upholstery work and made costumes which she loved to wear! She was known to redecorate her home quite often and loved Elvis Presley’s gospel songs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Martha Lantz.
Kathie is survived by her daughter, Renae Osborne and husband Randy of Batesville; son, Brian Slayden of Saffell; sisters, Jeanette Stuntz and husband David of Cave City, Carolyn Hall of Batesville, Cindy Herrera and husband Marlon, of Cave City, Zelda May and husband Tony, of Southside, and Dorothy Lantz of Southside; one brother, Marty Lantz of Cave City; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel of Doty Southside Funeral Service, 2180 Batesville Blvd., Southside, AR.
