Keith Vandel “Squirrel” Boutwell, 68, of Locust Grove, departed this life on Thursday, January 23,2025, in Cave City. He was born on March 7, 1956 to Everett Lavon “Pete” Boutwell and Sarah Angele Drake Boutwell.
During his working years he worked at Ideal Baking Company for over twenty years and at White Rogers until the company closed.
Keith was an avid hunter and fisherman who was nicknamed “Squirrel” after someone noticed his uncanny ability to hunt squirrels. After this, should you be a favorite of Keith’s, he would provide you with a nickname. Keith was also an outstanding basketball player in his high school days. One of his favorite pastimes was watching the deer outside his home.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Miranda (Chris) Jackson, of Swifton, and Melinda Boutwell; his sister, Becca Hobbs, of Hot Springs; two grandchildren, Kyler Stewart and Wyatt Smith; his nephew, Kiley(Amanda) Boutwell, of Locust Grove; his great nieces, Kenley Grace, Myra Lynn, and Sarah Jane Boutwell.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Vance Boutwell.
A Graveside Service will be Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Locust Grove Cemetery with Bro. Tom Doty officiating.
