Shirley Evelyn Moody

Shirley Evelyn Moody, 87, of Cushman, departed this life on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in Batesville. She was born on July 12, 1937, in Cushman, to Clyde Delbert Crafton and Venna Lucille Johnson Crafton.

Shirley worked for the Conagra Corporation on the assembly line for over seventeen years and then devoted over twenty years to the Bud Creek Baptist Camp in Greers Ferry cooking for the many campers who would come to the camps. She also loved cooking for all the holiday dinners with her family.

Her enjoyment in later years came from being in her home where she might be found gardening and reading her favorite books. She also could be found watching the shopping channels such as QVC.

She was a member of the The Rock Outreach Church in Cushman. 

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Russell and wife, Laura, of Moorefield; her daughter, Connie and husband, Alan, of Cushman; her grandchildren, Josh, Russ, Cody, Christina, Tim, and Nicole; her great grandchildren, Beau, Lexi, Madilyn, Mackenzie, Kinnley, Kylee, Gabby, Goldie, and Willow; two nephews, Harold Crafton, and wife, Connie, and Larry Crafton, and his wife, Carolyn; nieces, nephews, and friends.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, O'Neal Moody; her daughter, Donna Love; her grandson, Jesse Love; and a brother, Morris Crafton.

Funeral Service will be Monday, April 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at The Rock Outreach Church in Cushman, with Bro. Steve Gunther officiating.

Burial will follow the service in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman.

Pallbearers will be Josh Terrell, Michael May, Larry Crafton, and Robert Love.

A time of visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time.
