Vernon Webster Carpenter

Vernon Webster Carpenter, 80, of Locust Grove, departed this life on Thursday, November 28, 2024 in Batesville.  He was born on March 24, 1944, to Edgar Carpenter and Ethel Green Carpenter.

During his lifetime he worked in maintenance and drove a school bus for Batesville and Southside School District for over twenty years.  During his younger years he worked in construction.  Vernon could build anything and enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors working in his garden and yard, and fishing.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Tammie (Larry) Godsey, of Locust Grove and Briggett (Calvin) Hodges, of Bald Knob; his brothers, Larrry Carpenter, of Monette, Missouri, and Jack Carpenter, of Cassville, Missouri; his sister, Bonnnie (Doug) Reams, of Monette, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Kayla and Brittney; his great grandchildren, Michael, Greyson, and Josiah; 

Vernon is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Toby, Gene, and Bobby Carpenter; sisters, Joann Browning, Sharon Carpenter, and Janey Reams.

A family gathering will be Saturday, December 7, 2024.
