William “Billy” Doyle Hodges

May 26, 1975 — February 27, 2025

Batesville

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of William Doyle Hodges, who passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025.  He was best known as “Billy” to his family and friends.  He was born on May 26, 1975, in Searcy to William Freeman Hodges and Nora Elizabeth Jeffrey Hodges.

He was a beloved brother, father, and uncle, as well as an avid collector of various sports cards and memorabilia. When in good health, you would find him tinkering with some engine or working on some car he had recently bought. He worked mostly as a prison guard and on a factory line in various places. Billy loved to fish and do any thing outdoors. He loved to talk and would talk your ear off if you would let him; a trait he undoubtedly inherited from his father.

Billy is preceded in death by his mother, Nora Hodges, and father, William Freeman Hodges.

He is survived by three daughters, Suzanne Hodges, Lilian Metschke, and Nora Metschke, all of Snyder, Nebraska; his brothers, Ottis (Debbie) Hodges, of Beebe, Freeman (Brenda) Hodges, of Cabot, Duree (Debi) Hodges, of Sebring, Florida, Walter (Teresa) Hodges, of OKeen, Oklahoma, and Wesley (Anita) Hodges, of Batesville; his sisters, Donna Miller, of Memphis, Tennessee, Felicia Hirmer, of Virginia, Freda James, Sarah (Ernie) Stephens, of Mountain View, and Janey (Steve) Jackson; of Pleasant Grove; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Billy will be missed tremendously. He was quite the character and if you came in contact with him you would always remember him.

A Graveside Service will be Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Marcella Cemetery located in Pleasant Grove, with Bro. Gary Don Fletcher officiating.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Hodges, Walter Hodges, J.D. Brinkley, Cole Brinkley, Keenan Hodges, Ernie Stephens, Steve Jackson, and Zachary Lindsey.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Doty Southside Funeral Service.
